When I'm feeling tired and ready to go to bed, this is the skincare routine that I follow that ensures I'm taking care of my skin properly and lets me get into bed ASAP! Because of this, this routine doesn't include any active ingredients that can be a hassle at times, and skips over serums and toners.
Step 1. Cleanse
Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm
If I spent the day wearing makeup or for some reason feel like I need to cleanse some extra, I double cleanse starting with my favourite cleansing balm - the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm. Such a fresh and subtle citrus scent, and does the job perfectly!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cleanser
La Roche-Posay is one of my favourite skincare brands, and this Effaclar cleanser has been a staple in my skincare routine for as long as I can remember. Such a soothing gel cleanser that is the perfect amount of cleansing without leaving my skin feeling stripped. Since it's gel-based it also rinses off super nicely and easily, unlike some of my other commonly used cleansers that are more oil-based.
Step 2. Moisturize
Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel
One of my all-time holy grail products! Started using this way before I actually understood what skincare meant, and has stuck with me forever. It's incredibly soothing on the skin and often has a cooling effect on me, and does a pretty good job of hydrating my skin. Though it may not be as "effective" as a lot of pricier moisturizers with more ingredients, it's a product I really trust and find myself gravitating towards to when my skin isn't feeling so hot.
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Rich Moisturizer
Can you tell I'm a La Roche-Posay fan? Containing hyaluronic acid, it's a step up from pure aloe vera gel, and is the perfect thickness for a good amount of moisture without my skin feel like it's suffocating. This is my absolute go-to moisturizer because I have never had any issues with negative reactions or breakouts (sometimes when my skin is sensitive other moisturizers can sting/feel cakey). Again, the formula is really what sells this moisturizer - the perfect amount of moisture and absorbs really nicely.
Step 3. Night Mask
Farmacy Niacinamide Night Mask
Absolutely adore this night mask! I use it overnight and it has a typical night mask feeling. It starts of a little oily/greasy feeling, so I spend a little bit of time patting it in to speed up the absorption and settling-in process. Without fail, I wake up to plump, smooth, moisturized skin every time I use this mask. I use this mask about 3 times a week, and a little goes a long way when applying the mask.
